Official SCFA statement regarding suspension of Mt. SAC football player Bernard Schirmer
Official statement from Southern California Football Association Commissioner Jim Sartoris regarding the suspension of Mt. San Antonio College football player Bernard Schirmer:
"On the September 10, 2016 football game between Mt. San Antonio College and Ventura college, Bernard Schirmer, a Mt. SAC player, was disqualified (ejected) from the game for an unsportsmanlike act, involving the striking of an official. As a result of this decorum violation, Bernard Schirmer is being suspended for 60 months. Striking an official is considered a Level I Decorum Violation - the minimum sanction which is prescribed by the California Community College Athlete Association (CCCAA) Constitution - Article 7.4.11. is suspension for 60 months. The sanction may be appealed to the CCCAA Appeals Board."
